Are you keeping in touch?
We talked in the past about making sure you give a good impression online, and mentioned that when people search for you they need to be able to see that you’re reliable, credible, and sticking around.
But that doesn’t mean that people will buy from you straight away, so what can you do once people know who you are, know where to find you and are just ‘keeping an eye on you’ until they make their decision?
Ideally you’ll have encouraged them to sign up to your newsletter or email marketing list – that way you have their permission to keep in touch and things are a whole lot easier.
Encourage people to sign up by offering them a free download, or maybe by letting them know that list members get special offers, discounts and new of new services / products before anyone else.
That’s the easy part though – now what?
Keeping in touch nurtures relationships, keeps your name in front of them, and ensure that when they’re ready to buy, you’re the first person they think of.
Done well, it shows that you care, that you’ve thought the process through and that you’re not just sending messages willy nilly and hoping to hit them at the right time.
Done badly, it can look desperate, needy and remind us why MLM autoresponders get such a bad rap!
By automating your Keeping In Touch, you can ensure that you stay on message, only email interested people, and can tailor your message to the group of people you’re emailing. It lessens the room for error, and frees up your time to do something else.
A good email marketing system will incorporate Customer Relationship Management and ensure that with decent reporting you get a good overall view of your sales processes and can see how well things are working at any point in the funnel.
